The Hand of God

©2011 Swami Ajaya, PhD

Do you long
To be
Touched
Skin to skin
Hands, lips, tongues
Touching
One another
Hearts touching hearts

Water cascading over body
Tears easing down cheeks
All ways
To be
In touch
With yourself

Some remain
Out
Of touch
Untouched
By life

Or are flighty
Always
Up in the air
Unable
To touch
Down

Some are
Touchy
High strung
Recoiling
From perceived slights
Storming

Others draw back
From touch
Contracting
Just beyond
Reach

Untouchables
Are less
Than human
Not worthy
Of your touch

Do you dare
To touch
Another
To come
Right up against
Reach into
And be known

Do you dare
To touch
The sky
To be
Touched
By the wind

When heart is
Unsheathed
All,
Touches
Penetrates
Becomes
You
become
All

The blessed ones
Are
“touched”
The sensitive
Vulnerable
Ones
The crazies
Left-handers
Touched by mystery
Touched by grace
Weeping
Gratefully
Aware
They
We
You
Are
Touched
By the hand of God
Are
The hand of God
