The Hand of God

Do you long
To be
Touched
Skin to skin
Hands, lips, tongues
Touching
One another
Hearts touching heartsWater cascading over body
Tears easing down cheeks
All ways
To be
In touch
With yourselfSome remain
Out
Of touch
Untouched
By lifeOr are flighty
Always
Up in the air
Unable
To touch
DownSome are
Touchy
High strung
Recoiling
From perceived slights
Storming
Others draw back
From touch
Contracting
Just beyond
ReachUntouchables
Are less
Than human
Not worthy
Of your touchDo you dare
To touch
Another
To come
Right up against
Reach into
And be known
Do you dare
To touch
The sky
To be
Touched
By the wind
When heart is
Unsheathed
All,
Touches
Penetrates
Becomes
You
become
AllThe blessed ones
Are
“touched”
The sensitive
Vulnerable
Ones
The crazies
Left-handers
Touched by mystery
Touched by grace
Weeping
Gratefully
Aware
They
We
You
Are
Touched
By the hand of God
Are
The hand of God
